Important Facts about Cronus

1. Once Zeus has grown up he used a poison given to him by Gaia to force the contents of Cronuses stomach in reverse order. When one of his children had the plan to overthrow him he didn't want that happening so he ate his children to prevent it from taking place. Shows how he got his children back.
2. In athens on the twelfth day of the attic month of Hekatombian a festival called Kronia was held in honor of Cronus to celebrate the harvest. On this day Cronus used a sickle a weapon he used to castrate and depose Uranus, his father. Shows not everybody hates Cronus and that he has a life showing a little more about it and the people he killed.
3. When Zeus was all grown up he was mad at his father for doing what he did eating the children so he planned to overthrow Cronus it was called the battle of Titanomachy. He succeeded. Hades, Poseidon, Tatarus helped Zeus in the battle of taking out Cronus.
4. Rhea was saving Zeus by giving her a husband a rock wrapped in towels so Cronus would eat that instead thinking it was Zeus. Then Rhea would hide Zeus in a cave on the island of crete on Mt. Ida to be raised by a nymph so she could keep it a secret and keep Zeus safe until he was all grown up. According to some versions of the story, he was then raised by a goat named Amalthea, while a company of Kouretes, armored male dancers, shouted and clapped their hands to make enough noise to mask the baby's cries from Cronus. Other versions of the myth have Zeus raised by the nymph Adamanthea, who hid Zeus by dangling him by a rope from a tree so that he was suspended between the earth, the sea, and the sky, all of which were ruled by his father, Cronus. Still other versions of the tale say that Zeus was raised by his grandmother, Gaia. More info here
5. Cronus managed to escape to Italy where he ruled as Saturn. He escaped from being banished to the underworld from his bad actions. The period of his rule in Italy was the golden age honored by the saturnalia feast. His roman name is Saturn.
6. His mother is Gaia the earth godess, His father is Uranus The sky god, Wife Rhea The mother of all gods. His children were Hades, Hera, Demeter, Poseidon, and Hestia.
7. Cronus joined the Titans decedents of Gaia and Uranus who ruled during the golden age and makes war against Jupiter and eventually defeats him. Jupiter was the king of all gods. The god of the sky and thunder equivalent to Zeus.
8. Uranus and Gaia the "Gods" during the golden age children each received a third of the earth and Cronus is made king overall.
9. Cronus Overthrew the wicked serpent Titan Ophinon. Ophinon was the first of the Titan Gods to rule Olympos.He Wrestled him for the throne and won. At the same time Rhea Cronuses wife wrestled Eurynome and she also won.
10. Gaia made a sickle out of stone so Cronus and his brothers can castrate Uranus. Cronus was the only one up for the challenge so Gaia set up an ambush and Cronus got him from behind.
11. Cronus is the father of Zeus. Zeus was the god that destroyed the ships in the sea when odysseus was the only person left alive.

The reason why I chose red and orange colors is because people think of him as a mean guy and orange is a cooler color than red which shows he still is who he is and wont change but he has his reasons for what he does even though they are not the best choice. The music I chose to best represent the mood of the subject and the view of the person.
